SKU #: 2600028

Eretline features the parasitic wasp Eretmocerus eremicus, which targets and controls greenhouse and sweet potato whiteflies by feeding on and parasitizing their larvae.

Biological whitefly control with Eretmocerus eremicus

Eretline biological control agent contains the hymenopterous parasitic wasp, Eretmocerus eremicus. It attacks whitefly by host feeding on younger larval stages and parasitizing the second larval stage of greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum, silverleaf/sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci.

Benefits of Eretline :

  • Effective in warm climates: Performs well in high or fluctuating temperatures, ensuring reliable performance all season long.
  • Improved establishment: Delivered in innovative blister packs that protect the wasps and support successful emergence.
  • Strong host-finding ability: Females are highly efficient at locating whitefly larvae in the crop.
  • Dual whitefly control: Targets both greenhouse whitefly and sweet potato whitefly, ideal for mixed infestations.

Main uses

Greenhouse whitefly & Sweet potato whitefly.

How it works

Eretmocerus eremicus females search for second instar larvae of Bemisia or Trialeurodes. Upon finding a suitable host, they lay an egg between the host and leaf surface. The resulting larva parasitizes the whitefly host larva.

Feeding activity

Host feeds and controls large numbers of whitefly larva.

Optimal conditions

Prefers warm temperatures. Optimum temperature range is 25–29°C / 77–84°F.

Application advice

Eretline should be used wherever Bemisia is present. Since it can also be used to control greenhouse whitefly, it is useful in mixed populations.
