SKU #: 2600038

Californiline features Amblyseius californicus, a generalist predatory mite that effectively controls various spider mite species, including two-spotted and carmine mites.

Versatile spider mite control

Californiline Mini contains the predatory mite Amblyseius californicus, a generalist predator used for the biological control of spider mites. It is effective against two-spotted spider mites and carmine mites, and thrives in hot, dry conditions where other predators may fail.

Benefits of Californiline Mini :

  • Generalist predator: Feeds on various spider mite species, pollen, and other arthropods.
  • Longer persistence: Stays active in the crop longer than many other spider mite predators.
  • Performs in extreme climates: Remains active in high temperatures and low humidity.
  • Flexible development: Develops quickly in warm conditions, in sync with prey populations.

Target pests

Californiline Mini is used against two-spotted spider mites (Tetranychus urticae) and carmine mites (Tetranychus cinnabarinus), both common pests in protected and open-field crops.

Mode of action

The predatory mite feeds on members of the Tetranychidae family, including the key pest species T. urticae and T. cinnabarinus. It actively hunts and consumes eggs, larvae, and adult mites, reducing populations quickly and effectively.

Temperature and development

Amblyseius californicus develops in about 10 days at 21°C (69.8°F) and only 5 days at 30°C (86°F), which matches the lifecycle speed of two-spotted spider mites at those temperatures (16 and 7 days respectively). The predator remains active in a broad range of 13–35°C (54–95°F), making it suitable for various climate zones.

Best use

Californiline Mini is ideal for curative and preventative spider mite control, especially in crops grown under hot and dry conditions. It can also be used in combination with other predators as part of an integrated pest management (IPM) strategy.
