Specialized solution for red spider mite management
PHYTOcontrol features the predatory mite Phytoseiulus persimilis, used for managing red spider mite infestations in crops. Despite lacking vision, P. persimilis relies on scent and touch to locate prey. Delivered in a carrier material, the mites can be evenly spread over crop leaves for effective introduction. Once released, they immediately begin seeking out red spider mites, feeding exclusively on them and resorting to cannibalism if no prey is available.
Benefits of PHYTOcontrol :

Main uses
Management of red spider mites in greenhouse and field crops.
How it works
Phytoseiulus persimilis mites rely on scent and touch to find spider mites in the crop. Adults can consume up to 5 adult spider mites or 20 spider mite eggs or larvae each day. With a female-to-male ratio of about four to one, populations can increase quickly under favorable conditions (15–30 °C). Fertilized females lay eggs in or near spider mite colonies, supporting ongoing population establishment. When spider mite numbers are low, the mites may turn to cannibalism to sustain themselves, ensuring continued presence in the crop.
