Soil-dwelling mite with fast development
HYPOcontrol M contains eggs, nymphs, and adult forms of the predatory mite Stratiolaelaps scimitus (formerly known as Hypoaspis miles). Stratiolaelaps is a soil-dwelling predatory mite found widely across various regions. Particularly in environments abundant with food sources like Sciara larvae, these mites can proliferate rapidly.
Benefits of HYPOcontrol M :
- ✅ Development: Multiple life stages ensure strong and rapid population growth.
- ✅ Scalability: Easy to expand under favorable conditions.
- ✅ Natural: Based on a formulation of natural origin.
- ✅ Soil coverage: Active in multiple layers of the substrate.
Effective against sciarids, thrips and moth eggs
They play a important role in controlling populations of sciarid larvae, pupating thrips larvae, and eggs of the moth Duponchelia fovealis. This predatory mite serves as a key element in integrated pest management strategies for both vegetable and ornamental crops. Thanks to the diverse range of soil-dwelling organisms they consume, Stratiolaelaps scimitus can adapt to thrive in nearly any crop. Additionally, the predatory beetle Atheta coriaria can be employed alongside Stratiolaelaps to combat shore fly (Scatella) infestations. In extreme circumstances, Stratiolaelaps scimitus can endure up to 7 weeks without a food source.
