Soil-Dwelling predatory mite solution
HYPOcontrol M contains eggs, nymphs, and adults of the predatory mite Stratiolaelaps scimitus (formerly Hypoaspis miles). This soil-dwelling mite is naturally widespread and thrives in environments with food sources like Sciara larvae. It plays a role in managing sciarid fly larvae, pupating thrips larvae, and eggs of Duponchelia fovealis in both vegetable and ornamental crops.
Benefits of HYPOcontrol M
- ✅ Multiple life stages: Contains eggs, nymphs, and adults to support strong and consistent establishment.
- ✅ Easy scalability: Can expand naturally in soil environments with suitable prey.
- ✅ Natural origin: Based on naturally occurring soil-dwelling predatory mites.
- ✅ Broad soil coverage: Suitable for managing various pest stages in soil layers.
Main uses
Management of sciarid fly larvae, pupating thrips larvae, and eggs of Duponchelia fovealis. Can also be combined with Atheta coriaria to help address shore fly (Scatella) infestations.
How it works
Stratiolaelaps scimitus is a soil-dwelling predatory mite that moves through the growing medium feeding on soil-dwelling pest stages such as sciarid larvae and thrips pupae. Its diverse diet allows it to adapt to many cropping systems. In extreme conditions, it can survive for up to 7 weeks without food. This flexibility makes it a valuable component of integrated pest management strategies in both vegetable and ornamental production.
