Get to know Mohammed Antar
As the leader of our Agronomy department, Mohammed uses his expertise and experience to support growers in achieving enhanced crop productivity and quality.
He is an agronomist with over 15 years of experience in agricultural research, development and project management in field and greenhouse settings. He earned his PhD in Plant Science (Agronomy) from McGill University, Canada, in 2024, as well as an MSc. in Plant Science (The University of Manchester, United Kingdom, 2013) and a BSc. in Plant Production (Salahaddin University-Erbil, Iraq, 2008).
Mohammed has a strong background in agronomy, microbe-coated fertilizers, microbial inoculations (PGPR), biostimulants, biological products, nutrient management, fertility, and sustainable agriculture.
Before joining Royal Brinkman Canada, he worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Natural Resource Sciences at McGill University. He took part in all aspects of research and management within the Soil Ecology Research Group (SERG). His primary responsibilities were overseeing and managing agronomic research trials on grain crops and forages. This encompassed managing laboratories, sample collection and analysis (soil, plant, and greenhouse gases), data management, and reporting. He also oversaw research personnel and students within the group.
Mohammed has authored and co-authored 14 publications in international scientific journals and taken part in scientific conferences, symposiums, and workshops to present agronomic research data on microbe-coated fertilizers for sustainable crop production.
He enjoys spending time with his family, exploring nature, playing soccer with his son and crafting with his daughter in his free time. He likes travelling to learn more about diverse cultures.
