“Truly Green Farms was born with plans to construct a 90-acre state of the art greenhouse operation devoted to grow tomatoes. We searched out something that would be unique and innovative. Land was secured across the road from GreenField Global. We use their waste heat and CO2 which makes Truly Green Farms a very innovative and environmentally sustainable operation. In 2012 we built the first phase of 22 and a half acres and in 2021 we build our final phase for making this project now complete.”

Save time and money
Crop rotation is typically a hectic time with a lot of operations being carried out. A number of crop rotation activities, such as removing the crop, shredding the crop, removing foil, cleaning the greenhouse, and disinfecting the greenhouse can be done with machines. Bio Chopper
Arie Alblas, specialist at Royal Brinkman, explains that crop removal a labour-intensive and physically demanding step in the crop rotation process is. “The Bio Chopper, a crop shredder for organic material, is the most popular product for speeding up crop rotation, because this shredder makes the biggest impact on time and labour savings.
There are four variants of the bio chopper available, and determining which crop shredder suits your company the best depends on a number of factors. Starting with the capacity and power of crop shredders, the size of the crop, your budget and the size of the company. At Truly Green Farms they use the Super Chopper Compact, which is ideal for shredding of heavy vegetable crops. The crop volume is reduced to about 20 percent of the original volume.”
