Main uses

Aphids

How it works

The female wasp lays an egg inside the aphid. The egg hatches within 2–3 days and the larva develops inside the aphid, eventually forming a parasitized mummy on the plant. The Aphidius colemani life cycle takes approximately 10 days at 25 °C / 77 °F or 14 days at 21 °C / 70 °F. Releases can be planned weekly during periods when aphids are more likely to appear in the crop (typically spring or early summer). In crops with existing aphid colonies, higher release rates may be applied near these colonies. In situations with no previous releases, aphid populations may increase quickly and additional management measures may be needed. Ongoing use supports consistent monitoring of aphid presence in the crop.
