Natural predatory mite solution for spider mite management
Californiline is a biological control agent containing the predatory mite Amblyseius californicus. This generalist predator targets a range of spider mite species, including the common two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae. It can be used in many crop types as part of an integrated pest management program.
Benefits of Californiline :
- ✅ Generalist feeding: Can feed on spider mites, other arthropods, and pollen to support survival in the crop.
- ✅ Extended presence: Maintains populations longer in crops compared to many other spider mite predators.
- ✅ Climate adaptability: Remains active in high-temperature and low-humidity conditions.
Main uses
Two-spotted spider mite
Carmine mite
How it works
Californiline predatory mites feed on members of the Tetranychidae family, including the two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae) and the carmine mite (Tetranychus cinnabarinus). Development time varies with temperature: approximately 10 days at 21 °C (69.8 °F) and around 5 days at 30 °C (86 °F), matching the development rates of their prey. The Tetranychus urticae lifecycle is about 16 days at 21 °C and 7 days at 30 °C. Amblyseius californicus remains active within a broad temperature range of 13–35 °C (54–95 °F), making it suitable for diverse growing environments.
