Natural spider mite management option
Phytoline is a biological control agent containing the predatory mite Phytoseiulus persimilis. This beneficial mite is widely used in crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, and ornamentals. It supports the management of two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae) populations as part of an integrated pest management program.
Benefits of Phytoline :
- ✅ Wide crop suitability: Recommended for use on many greenhouse and field crops.
- ✅ Feeding stages: Both adults and juveniles feed on spider mite eggs and active stages.
- ✅ Alternative option: Suitable for use where chemical controls are limited.
- ✅ Easy monitoring: Transparent containers allow visual inspection for quality.
Main uses
Two-spotted spider mite (TSSM).
How it works
Both adult and juvenile predatory mites feed on all life stages of two-spotted spider mites. Phytoline is effective across a wide temperature range (above 14 °C / 57 °F) and can also be applied outdoors. Note that at temperatures over 30 °C / 86 °F, spider mite populations may increase faster than Phytoseiulus. Activity may be reduced in low light conditions, but the mites do not enter diapause.
