Mode of action of Trianum-P
Trianum-P works through four mechanisms: it competes with harmful fungi for space and nutrients, parasitizes plant pathogens, and strengthens both the root system and the plant's defense mechanisms. Trichoderma harzianum T-22 protects against soil-borne pathogens such as Pythium spp., Rhizoctonia spp., Fusarium spp., Sclerotinia spp., and Microdochium spp.
Competitive growth
Trianum-P grows faster than harmful fungi on the root surface, making it more difficult for pathogens to establish.
Nutrient competition
By absorbing essential nutrients, Trianum-P deprives pathogens of their food source, hindering their development.
Pathogen suppression
Trianum-P surrounds the mycelium of pathogens and breaks down their cell walls, causing them to die.
Plant strengthening
Trianum-P improves the root system by stimulating the formation of more root hairs, allowing for better uptake of water and nutrients. This results in a stronger, more uniform crop and improved yields. The effect is particularly pronounced when the plant is under stress and/or grown under less than optimal conditions. Trianum also boosts the defense mechanisms of above-ground plant parts through so-called Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR). In addition, Trianum-P can make certain fixed nutrients, such as manganese and iron, available for uptake by the plant.
