Biological spider mite management solution
Californiline is a biological control agent containing the predatory mite Amblyseius californicus. This generalist predator targets a variety of spider mite species, including the common two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae), making it a versatile option for integrated pest management programs in many crops.
Benefits of Californiline :
- ✅ Generalist predator: Capable of feeding on spider mites, pollen, and other small arthropods to support survival when prey levels are low.
- ✅ Extended presence: Designed to remain active in crops longer than many other predatory mite species.
- ✅ Climate tolerance: Performs well under high temperatures and lower humidity levels.
Main uses
Two-spotted spider mite
Carmine mite
How it works
Californiline predatory mites feed on members of the Tetranychidae family, including the two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae) and the carmine mite (Tetranychus cinnabarinus). Development time depends on temperature: approximately 10 days at 21 °C (69.8 °F) and about 5 days at 30 °C (86 °F). These developmental rates align with those of their primary prey. The two-spotted spider mite itself completes its lifecycle in approximately 16 days at 21 °C and 7 days at 30 °C. Amblyseius californicus remains active within a broad temperature range of 13–35 °C (54–95 °F), making it adaptable to various growing environments.
