Biological control of thrips and mites
Amblyline is a biological control product containing the predatory mite Amblyseius cucumeris. It is used for the effective control of Western Flower Thrips, Chili Thrips, and several other thrips species in a wide range of crops.
Benefits of Amblyline
- ✅Broad-spectrum target: Controls various thrips species including Western Flower and Chili Thrips.
- ✅Reliable performance: Proven track record of effective control of thrips larvae.
- ✅Rapid dispersal: Mites spread quickly and evenly throughout the crop.
- ✅Long-term activity: Feeds on pollen, enabling sustained population and protection.
Main uses
Amblyline is mainly used for the biological control of: Thrips (Western Flower Thrips, Chili Thrips), Broad mite & Cyclamen mite.
How it works
The product formulation ensures a consistent release of Amblyseius cucumeris mites into the crop daily. These beneficial mites feed on first-stage thrips larvae (L1), preventing them from developing further. They do not feed on larger larvae or adult thrips.
Development time for *A. cucumeris* at 24°C (75°F) is 6–9 days, which aligns well with the life cycle of Western Flower Thrips. The mites perform best at temperatures between 19–27°C (66–80°F) and relative humidity levels of 65%–75%.
Another key advantage: these mites do not enter diapause, ensuring year-round effectiveness.
