SKU #: 2600070

Digline is a biological control agent featuring the ectoparasitic wasp Diglyphus isaea, which targets and manages leafminer pests, halting leaf damage swiftly and effectively.

Preventive control with Diglyphus isaea

Digline is a biological control agent containing the ectoparasitic wasp Diglyphus isaea. This wasp specializes in controlling the larval stages of leafminer pests, such as Liriomyza species (L. trifolii, L. huidobrensis) and the chrysanthemum leafminer Phytomyza syngenesiae.

Benefits of Digline

  • Quick control: Stops leaf damage almost immediately.
  • Dual action: Paralyzes leafminer larvae and host-feeds on them.
  • Fast life cycle: Develops faster than the leafminer.

Main uses

Leafminers (Liriomyza trifolii, L. huidobrensis, Phytomyza syngenesiae)

How it works

Adult Diglyphus wasps paralyze leafminer larvae with their sting and lay eggs next to the immobilized larvae. The eggs hatch quickly and the wasp larvae begin feeding externally on the leafminer larvae. Parasitized larvae stop feeding and leave the mine, which immediately halts further damage. The Diglyphus pupates inside the mine, and once mature, the adult wasp emerges to continue the cycle. Development from egg to adult takes 26–27 days at 15°C (59°F) and 10–11 days at 25°C (77°F). Activity may decrease under low light conditions.
